Curing rubber products is an important process that helps determine how well a rubber product will perform. The ability to produce high-quality industrial rubber products is dependent on the curing process used by the manufacturer. Whether it’s conveyor belts made from rubber, industrial sheets made with rubber, sealing membranes made from rubber, roofing products made of rubber or textile-reinforced rubber products, the strength, flexibility, durability and dimensional stability of the product will be determined by the way in which it was cured (using a vulcanizing agent).
As major producers of rubber products, the most challenging aspect of maintaining these properties across all 2.5 million+ feet of production is keeping them consistent throughout production. At Bharaj Machineries, we have addressed this problem by introducing India’s first rotocure machine process that incorporates continuous vulcanization (vulcanizing process) using superior process control and provides a high level of heat uniformity throughout the vulcanizing process and the entire rubber-producing operations.
The design of our technology is particularly suited to the needs of large-volume rubber-producing manufacturers who want to produce their products using continuous curing processes (rather than batch), maximize manufacturing volume and efficiency, maintain process consistency, and limit their costs associated with producing high-quality rubber products.
Reasons Why Continuous Vulcanization Is Needed
An increase in product width and greater production volumes can create bottle necks/curing will slow down the manufacturing process. Inconsistent curing cycles, temperature distribution, and low production rates can affect product quality and profits in the manufacturing industry.
The rotocure machine provides a solution to these problems by using a continuous curing process with controlled temperature, stable pressure, and synchronized movement of the conveyor line. This will allow manufacturing to become predictable, repetitive, and efficient.
Development Of The Bharaj Rotocure Machine
Bharaj's rotocure machine uses a rotary curing process, in which an etched steel belt works with a heated drum to create uniform heat throughout the vulcanization process.
Unlike typical machines, where heat is distributed incorrectly from one product to another, our process allows us to provide consistent heating throughout the width and length of a given production run.
It's especially important when manufacturing:
- Belts for conveyance
- Belts for construction
- Textiles made out of rubber
- Plates for sealing
- Roofing membranes
- Flooring materials for industrial use
- Technical rubber sheets
The ability to maintain the same heating conditions results in the production of products that have superior physical characteristics or enhanced performance.
Developed For Process Stability
Successful curing relies on three sets of parameters to control the curing process:
Temperature Control
Temperature settings that we provide operate between 160℃ and 220℃. Manufacturers will be able to achieve desired curing conditions depending on their compound formulas or the needs of the finished products.
The uniformity of temperature over the entire cure cycle proves to:
- Achieve full vulcanisation of the product
- Provide higher tensile strength of the product
- Deliver an improved resistance to abrasion and wear
- Achieve consistent hardness values of the product
Slowed Speed Adjustment Control
The rotocure will process any material between 0.03 meters per minute and 4.7 meters per minute based on the previous example.
Relative to other devices, the rotocure gives manufacturers the option of accurately controlling the amount of time it takes to cure materials with respect to both their technical specifications and the properties of the raw materials.
Thickness Control Of Product
Rotocure can cure product material that is from 0.5 mm up to 25 mm thick, which allows applicability for a variety of uses. This combined ability makes the Bharaj rotocure machine appropriate for use in both lightweight technical sheets and heavier types of industrial products.
Steel Belt Technology From Sandvik
The steel belt system is a key part of all rotocure machines.
Bharaj rotocure machines use top-quality Sandvik steel belts, which have:
- Greatly improved thermal conductivity
- Highly stable dimensions
- Very long service periods
- Excellent heat transfer uniformity
The steel belt system is essential to producing an even cure on the whole surface of the product and to maintaining a reliable process over extended runs in production.
Models Designed Around Production Requirements
Different industries have different production demands. To address these requirements, Bharaj offers multiple rotocure machine configurations:
BRCM 700-1700
Ideal for medium-scale production lines requiring product widths up to 1600 mm.
BRCM 1000-1700
Designed for higher production capacities with product widths up to 2000 mm.
BRCM 1500-2000
Suitable for manufacturers seeking increased throughput while maintaining precise curing control.
BRCM 2000-2500
Developed for large-scale industrial production environments requiring maximum productivity and wider product processing capabilities.
Created To Fit Your Manufacturing Method
Each production facility is unique in its own right. That’s why we can tailor each rotocure machine to meet the unique needs of each of our customers.
There are multiple custom options available:
- Customizing the width of the machine
- Selecting a heating system
- Integrating with existing processes
- Fitting into existing production lines
- Creating CE or Non-CE versions of the machine
This kind of flexibility gives manufacturers access to curing solutions that work well with their current production facilities.
Our Perspective On Equipment
At Bharaj Machineries, we consider the rotocure system to be much more than a simple piece of equipment.
It is an essential component of a complete rubber processing system and is a major factor in how consistently, productively, and reliably a business can manufacture its machines, which is why it should have an impact on how profitable a business will ultimately be.
Bharaj's engineering team collaborates with customers to assess:
- Product characteristics
- Rubber compound characteristics
- Expected volumes and production targets
- Any anticipated plant expansions or growth
We believe this consultative process leads to the successful selection of the right curing system that will continue to generate operational value for many years to come.
